either okay let me just double-check before I move on, and hopefully if people come in just watch the video I started with two teacher jokes that I find I like corny teacher jokes and dad jokes so I do shows with the kids sometimes just to kind of like them things up McKayla are so I posted our daily schedule for in-person I understand there's going to be a lot of issues this year with possibly going back and forth I know what I can say is that what they did before went when we close this time when we had positive covid cases they would report to the health department and the health department would tell us what to do if it wasn't up to the school so we had two cases like a few weeks ago and there was a hot a lot more cases like the week after that and that's when they decided to shut down and I guess they were given a timeframe by damso really wasn't on us and another was a lot of confusion was going to Virtual and and whatnot so hopefully I don't have to go again but the chances of that happening are very possible so our schedule looks like this is breakfast I kind of like kids just eat till they're done I do cut it off at 9 unless they come in late they come in late I'll sell you know you can sleep breakfast I do not want them to not have breakfast I couldn't learn empty stomach so there is like kind of like a reasonable cut off would maybe be like 9:15 9:30 they're still coming that late breakfast is kind of over now nothing left I try to get started at 8:30 doesn't always happen because a lot of times I don't have many students do the busing and arrive one things like that so usually I'm getting started around 9 but I try to get started before if I can am I always start with the morning meeting it's something simple some kind of like social values like getting along and things like that we do the calendar and we do the weather each morning I try to make that quick to move on to other I'm starting at 9 it's supposed to be with cold response to intervention and what we're going to do when they come back as we're going to do some standardized testing is going to be like an online test and it scared to keep kids in you know K through three Anthony is going to show us where they are and the tested just as they're taking it so the questions too hard the next session will be easier and it is going to test them in like math and reading so that'll be a time where I'll get those reports and then I'll be able to say okay these were kids need work on this specific skill that's what response to intervention mean so I'll be working on that for the first 42 minutes or so then we'll move in the phonics which is letter sound sounding Out words things like that that's good about a half an hour 40 minutes get back to turn the computer off just back there then we'll do litters the whole group which will be like usually like for every two that will work on skills like character plot setting understanding a book I will do a whole group work there so there's a lot of small groups in the morning so from like 9 to 10:30 that's all small group time and when and really working on the first couple weeks in person was working independently or working in a small group and we have what I call literacy centers and it'll be like you know working with letter stamps to make words or I have pre-made things where they can like there's like three letter words like cat and a letter is missing at the figure it out so I've been really working on the first couple weeks getting them to work independently so that way I can focus on the small groups that's when they get the most know the best learning because I can focus on skills and a small group will need the same stuff there's probably three or four kids to do a lot of small groups and then 11:09 to 11 you want his lunch one thing I did want to remind you guys is that important to you to covid we are eating lunch in the room we do try to go outside for recess there's a lot of different grassy areas and playgrounds so what we are trying to do is put up to the each class isn't their own space so that inter mixing with other classes that doesn't always happen but we try to do that but so we are in the in the classroom for lunch and then go outside for recess after lunch we do math I haven't small groups math yet but this program that were going to do the assessment is going to give me some better ideas of where the kids needs are in math so for math I just been doing like whole group stuff teaching the whole class and less than addition or subtraction small group is till like 12:30 and then the whole group math is till 1:17. The Specialist like Jim or music they come to the classroom so that's from 1:18 to 2 unfortunately they're in the classroom they can't reach you travel around with trying to reduce moving around so the place was really contains most of the day and then from like 2:01 to 2:43 with you right now and then 44 to 3:26 and then we get outside around 3:30 just to note we have there's no school Monday to get to it in the main session will have covid testing at the schools they said I I do just a timer with 7 30 to 1 on Tuesday next week and then from 1 to 6:30 on Wednesday and they have to have a negative covid test to come back to the school on Thursday next week I need to stop presenting introduction for me and my assistant my name is Mister Maisie I've been teaching for over 10 years I did a lot of time in a preschool program four age groups but mostly it was preschool and pre-kindergarten and then I've been teaching first grade in Phillies in 2016 on my did teach fourth grade for a few months in there but then I've been teaching first grade the rest of that time I have my master's degree in elementary education from Cabrini University and I am certified in PA to teach kindergarten through fourth grade and then a couple things about me I have a huge believe in positive reinforcement trying to redirect route then say this is the wrong thing I'm not perfect so I do I know I realize today was like frustrated with something so I hopefully won't focus on the negative but there is some that try to focus on positive reinforcement telling them they're doing right I've been trained in a variety of different programs for reading and math I think I'm I'm slowly becoming like a very a guru for teaching reading to young kids I've learned a lot I did a lot of research on it myself I always just wanted training to learn how to teach kids in first grade to read better I'm very proud of the results I've had the last few years with that so I'm excited this this year to get back in the in person unless it was a challenge doing it but we didn't we act like we got a really good Groove and then we got back in person it was so exciting to see the results of that so hopefully we're in person majority of the year and I have one daughter and I'm married and that's me did you want to go over your stuff I didn't do what you sent me but I told you to go there real quick 73 I have a bachelor's in business management the concentration of Human Services I'm training was I have training with special education working with Behavioral Health I'm kids teenagers and adults I also work at Beaumont Hospital as a behavioral health associate technician I work with adolescents for my unit I have three daughters 1911 2017 also Trina IXL math and literacy and imma try my best off the kids for the rest of the school year thank you lied I think both of you or on Play SoJO and check it regularly so I'm just going to try I'm going to try to get everyone on their everyone was on there but unfortunately I'm not sure everyone checks it or they may have deleted the app or whatever I use it everyday and I try to communicate really important stuff on there I try to post at least wanted to update today about stuff let me not but if there's nothing important to post on there I try to use this as my primary form contact but feel free to text me or call me on my phone number to which all have in our slide that's fine too I don't mind and then while we were virtual I use this as my homework site I try to hopefully I can see what's going to happen if we're virtual since I can't give them to you or packet this is what I use for homework where in person you can get a pack of papers so that way is easier for them I think pencil paper is the best way for kids to to work on stuff virtually it's it's nice but please stay in touch with me for any reason you can always reach out to me on ClassDojo my phone or my email letting me know about absences anything you need anything that's happening at home that can affect please feel free to I doesn't matter it whatever it is I want to be in touch with people I get a lot of texts today I don't and at all I really want to know anything that is important I need to know you know and it's going to be absent going to be late if we let me know the more information I have his teacher the better so I can let the school know that they always are asking me likewise has kids whatever the case maybe I'm so I know it's it looks better for everything to know what's going on and if there's anything else going on I know you know what other things like that so I know that the kid might be no be upset or be just if I'm anything like that feel free to tell me I want to know so I can help you shoot the best I can just the rules and expectations have my classroom I always break down my rules in the three things be kind used to be kind to others because of the environment cuz you can find a pump anyting in your classroom to those three being things and on our wall in the classroom we have that and underneath each of those I had the kids give examples of like what that meant one thing I did want to just cash out really really is really important so hard to miss with words it was starting already at the with the kids being virtual last year they lost a lot of socialization and there was a lot of arguments and fights going on in the classroom in the last week or two before you went out so I will continue to work on that and if it happens with your pick up kid I will let you know and I'll try to tell you as much information as I can find so you know what happened I asked you be present to participate to be involved at all times in the classroom virtual is hard I've noticed a lot of gift in participation kids that were very active in person or not as active virtually some kids are the same some kids are still very active and very some kid to kid depends on the situation I am going to harp on this more with the kids wear masks I am guilty sometimes of pulling my down to talk I'm going to work on not doing that no one in our class no one in our class had any illness it was not in our class but God forbid that would happen so just make sure you we reiterate the kids to wear masks at all times lunch and snack or something like that would be different but then I said lunch so I have a question to me so I know that the kids are and I'm totally you know and a green you know agreeing to keep your mask on but when you do go outside have to keep your mask on I I think there's a little bit of leeway with that I'd ask the nurse about it she said they should but honestly if you like because of like I think I've read the CDC guidelines it supposed to be like relaxed outside I'm not going to but if they take it off I don't think I want to say anything like in Chipley mr. When she has a mess when I'm running it's like she's there you know having a rough time breathing so poison him up before we get back to Berlin face makeup and weave washing hands and things like that oh and another thing I do bring it in with bottles of water it is it like a water fountain if they ever get thirsty is but it broke is the bring water bottles or something to drink to they constantly thirsty and they installed a water bottle refiller and it broke and so far it hasn't been fixed I know of so right so the first day of school I'll bring you for it the waters, thank you and it was so they fixed it the air was working and now it's cooling off play but still I mean I I I encourage the kids to be able to drink water throughout the day even if it's not hot so you in person if people are late it's one thing on Zoom I asked you to try to be on time we've had some issues with people being really really late if you're going to be late just let me know and that way at least I know that's fine I totally understand just a couple kids that were an hour late and I'm not sure and I had texted the parent Universe didn't hear back so just if you're going to be late if it happens but just let me know and if it's a  about it some of the probe reviews on we use wonders for literacy literacy is it if I remember we were talking about to say before we had this meeting you know I don't think I have a picture when I was younger what literacy means now what is like Reading Writing phonics on like reading analysis so we used wonders for literacy no wonders has everything in it it has phonics in writing and things in it we actually use other programs for free text and writing wonders we use for the stories and like the story analysis and there is some like you know how to write a sentence in there and how to like how to sound out words so we will use different programs when we do literacy Foundation cesare phonics program of those one letter skills had to sound out words what what sounds what letters make we were using wonders currently online because we hadn't set up foundation for youth virtually but when we get back in person we're going to be using fundations to do Onyx and letter sounds and what not in person wonder if that's a big emphasis on text analysis like reading a story and talk about it I'm not obviously she still alive talk about a day with the kids if the contract or piece of formation of the news or whatever so I try to make it real world as much as I can even if they're reading Jack In the Beanstalk if they can tell me what that story was about they can listen and talk about what they heard and then the writer is a writing program which I do talk about another slide the literacy Bop is broken up into a little bit earlier small groups the RTI which is like I find out what they need and work on that and guided reading is similar to that I'm going to reading is working on it can be working on number of skills can be working on Phonics gills in a small group it can be working one story houses in a small group would you do whole group or we teach the whole class has the same lesson would you do literacy earlier like you know working with like three to four kids in a certain center maybe they're writing some sight words out or whatever with crayons and different colors for each letter reading levels if you I don't if it's at I think most of the kids in my class were assessed we have a program called fountas and Pinnell which ranks the reading levels and it tells you where students should be at each grade student should be at a level G coming in the first place at the end of the year should be at the J to the pretty typical development I do have some kids that are under eat I have some kids that I will meet their needs wherever they are so if they're not here yet neither I'll still work with Emma whatever skills they need and try to get them up to Jay by the end of the year we have a new math program which I love I wasn't a huge fan of our previous math program this one is called envisions it's it is a are supposed to Saint counting accurately for the beginning of the year and then I was looking through it today just like an overview of the whole year there's a large focus on adding and subtracting throughout the year and it increases the numbers up to like 20 and 30 and it all different strategies to add and throughout the year there is some folks at the end of the year on like shapes time money things like that but that's towards the end of the year but the mostly year is spent on adding and subtracting a different ways and using different numbers different strategies Georgia numbers being a writer is a writing program I do like this the only thing I can. It's not I have to kind of a just a little bit is that it assuming that a lot of the kids can ride already but there's a lot of focus on this on using your pictures to represent your ideas obviously in the beginning year that's what I would focus on and I would transition to like single representation so they might draw happy faces they happy or I am happy and I try to do also gate that individually like if they can write more I want them to write more that's okay so I will transition to quickly having them draw a picture and write a word or more tell me the and then work on writing Concepts throughout the year like the parts of speech sentence structure on how to use it you know how to use periods and question marks and! Correctly and we'll work on that throughout the year as a group we have a new social studies program which is really neat it's called impact social studies their focuses on some of the main topics for the social studies here is citizenship government Community economics for history in the past I think there's a section on America so and it's aligned with the state standards but all our programs are all our programs are aligned with the state standards for Learning and if you don't know what the Defenders are it's it's basically you know it'll say like a goal like student should be able to do this certain skill with any topic whether it's masks English writing science social studies science we have inquiry-based and Hands-On program which is Weedle go to exterminate it really stunk that s*** that we were on Virtual most of your we couldn't do experiments much I tried to show them videos of it which was the best you could do and I and I did try to you know ask for simple supplies think you could probably drive around the home they're giving us a science kit that has all this stuff in it so we can do science experiments in the school they already they already gave it to the event and I'm excited to get back in person and do that there's to park my  and boss those are just the kids we used simply that good programs they they have different experiments and everything that you can do in them specials for class I'm going off memory I couldn't find my list 95% sure this is the accurate list for our specials Monday's is written wrong Monday is dance with Miss Barbosa and Tuesday is music with mr. Robinson Wednesday's technology with Miss de Leon on Thursday is Jim with mr. Simms Friday's art with Miss Vdara the specials are different in person and virtual so the specials we have virtually are completely different on different dates so I don't know why I noticed that was that kind of threw the kids out there like wait a minute we have our own Fridays no like no we don't we have we had something different on virtually I think that's gets mr. Mazy in person for gym cuz I know you guys stay in the classroom has he come to the classroom all the special teachers come to the classroom and he did say he would try to take them outside for stuff because we're right near a big open area so he did say he would try to take them outside as much as possible he has had the moving around the classroom with stuff like that we do have some space so so yeah we're just as much so I know them kids go crazy it stopped by the end of the day there they're very Nevada Energy and it's it's I feel bad because I know I start getting frustrated it's like that's not their fault they've been in the Play Store
