Comprehension

Good morning,
Welcome to a new day! I hope everyone is keeping safe these days. I will be posting a few lessons today for students to work on. If you can print these pages, please do so. If not, your student can just read the passage and answer the questions, the last page has the answers to the questions. Thank you for your effort as we try to pull through together.

Week 2 Mathematics

Week 2

Good morning families!

I hope everyone is doing well. We will start this week with our sight words and some Maths. Please make sure that your student is logging on daily and at least practicing the sight words, as it is very important that they know these words for fluency. At least 30 minutes per day should be spent practicing by doing the activities, using flashcards, using the words in sentences, etc.

Something extra that you can also do is have the words posted in places in the house where your student will see them frequently. Posting a new word each day would be a good start. Just be creative with these words to ensure that your student is learning them.

Thank you for your support as we aim to keep your child educated!

Day #5

Good morning all!

Please have students continue working on their Dolch sight words. I had previously posted a link with these words, and you can also click on the links below to find them. It is very important for students to know the sight words as they are key to better reading. When students have words that they can recall without having to use decoding skills, this gives them a better start at reading.

Also, don't forget that math is as important as reading! Please continue to do both.

Stay safe!

Trace and Print the Letters

Hello families,
I have posted a new link with activities to practice hand writing while learning the letters of the alphabet! Please print these pages if you have access to a computer. This is not a one day assignment, as children need time to register the information. Please make this a daily practice. Thank you.

Dolch Sight Words

Good morning families,

Please have your student continue practicing the sight words from yesterday. I have posted a link to Dolch Sight Words activities. Students will start with the ones that are on their individual level, and move on to the others. The Dolch Pre-Primer words are the easiest on the list, then it goes on to Primer and so on. I will be posting work pages with practice sentences as well as other activities that will allow the students to be able to recall the words. Please remember, my assignments do not replace those of the teachers', they are supplemental.

Have a great day and stay safe.
