okay so I'll be I'll try to be brief but first of all I love what I do I really love teaching I know you don't want to hear this side of me but I love teaching I'm going to show you like I don't know 5 years. I've been there we do music video and it's so sad because like the kids aren't there in person to do a video to do a video today but it wasn't totally music video but I write rap are the kids I try to make it fun let me share my screen with you and show you what we came up with these I wanted to have something to share with you for back to school night and look who it is soundtrack. places that will be accomplished today after we get our math and stuff but they're not the only ones who rap I wrote a rap for this you guys are like white but I wrote Rhapsody so I'm going to ask you a little about myself and then I'll just give me one second I'm going to share my screen with you again how are you are you can hear me okay I was just checking in. I'm going to go through this PowerPoint I will make it so quick so quick you guys come down but I'm going to share with you right now this is what I do ever you're welcome to third place we've been in third grade for a few weeks my classroom seems like dinosaurs that's why I have you sign a sore pictures it's not like weird it's just that's what the background information you can call me mister you can call me g o a t I didn't realize that the kids can call me Jamie when they grabbed fifth grade so they can call me Jamie that you guys can I graduated from Temple and this is my fifth year at wpaces okay this is boring literacy important is make sure that your child is reading at home the more that they read the better off they will be in class were using website called epic it's free online library everything's free I sign them up already they should know how do it if you're ever having trouble with it text me I got you all slain how to login from home Mass this year they go over time tables and division that that's like the main thing I would cover you don't need to go into area perimeter directions I got out of class if I'm worried about your chin I'll let you know but as of right now I'm really not worried about hiring 2-seam I think they're both fine so I would tell you science behind a science teacher heat for Mike he comes in on Fridays and he's probably going to be doing virtual experiments are showing videos social studies it's important for the kids. But I also think it's important for the kids to so that's something I'm going to focus on this year I want them to leave my classroom and be accountable be respectful be just decent human being doesn't have goodbyes like I feel like That's Amore important thing to come out of this year music in the classroom I do a lot of music breaks and I think that kids can learn through Reading lyrics they can run for reading that I taken on as long as you're reading something you're still reading my biggest thing my dad couldn't wait for you because I was trying to laughing totally fine with me that's why do the rest of the kids I've written raps to hotline bling hotline Bling by Audrey I wrote a song to Juju on that beat which is always fun but it's going to be less fun because it's virtual will try to make it fun expectation I just want the kids to be respectful I'm pretty respectful towards them so I just want them to be respectful towards me I only reach out if it's consistent disrespect I try to listen to my own hands because I don't want the kids to see that they can get away with whatever they want and then I'm just going to call her it's going to be handled from there but if something's just like out of my control I will reach out but honestly a really good class like I really like them so about it for that I guess I'm not reading all this the most important part of this slide positive reinforcement if I compliment your child and say they had a really good guy like they were so good take that and tell them please tell them the kids need to know how good they are if they feel good about themselves they're going to come to school the next day and be so good when they feel good the most important thing is this why are you wearing that so I wear costumes for the kids they work together to earn points so if you ever see me dressed up on Zoom like looking so weird looking so weird it's because the kids earned it I'm not doing it because I want to be a hot dog I'm doing it because the kids are in that together so this is the video from the other we it was fine so it's fine I'll be all wear wigs I'll work on I'll wear whatever for them as long as they are good for me I am going to spoil them this year it's going to take some time but I'm going to spoil them consequences classroom management I just said I only reach out if it's absolutely necessary engagement problem for your children but if I've noticed this thing works his will just make sure the only thing that gets on my nerves right now but it has nothing to do okay prizes so if I ever your address I'm not coming over for dinner I'm not asking you to like have me as a gas I'm sending you a package so if I ever how do you say what's your address I'm sending you a gift it's a gift for your child your child earned something because they were so good that's Autumn she earns a bag of Jolly Ranchers I was his choice Tire on the book the other day so I will mail it you prizes just because it's easier than you coming to meet me halfway right now if you want to follow the class Instagram I will be posting on there and if you want to email me I don't know why you didn't tell me if you want to text me but I don't really care you can do whatever take a picture of this slide right whatever you want down but I'll leave it up for a second. How many questions not yet so far about this stuff it's about the work when you start the homework will it be on email account how they have a separate email accounts I have to work it out with my grade team I think I do it on Google Classroom would that be harder for you or easier for you. I just wanted to know so I got my email to set up and I said I wanted to know which email account to look for if you was going to send the link to like the parents and then we click on it and they do a homework or when you send it for Cystic me to it is already I mean I don't want to make you upset I think it's going to go to the kids I want the kids to the technology because they're going to go to 4th grade and I don't know how long is virtual learning going on for them to learn how to use it so do you think it's going to be through the kids if that's okay that's okay yeah that's just like I had to show him how to add a email account cuz he kept coming to me like I'm not getting so I don't know where you think that email you have your own account on here where everything is at and things like that so he has been using it for epic and reflux and so he tried to get to his email and pull things up from near okay so he's like used to it now though all right I'll let you know when it starts I'm probably going to send out an email to the adults when homework starts but once it does start the assignments are going to go through Google Classroom to the kids but if anything changes I'll stay can a male have any other questions anyone know hang out with me yeah if anything comes up feel free to text me I have my phone on me whatever you guys need okay I'm sorry the the math test that they took last week in the re in Texas this week is that for like just to see where they are or is it like exactly what you're going to give the pre-assessment is just to see what they learn second grade and what it's not going to be held against them it's not going to hurt them it's not going into the report card it's literally just to see what did you learn from your second grade teacher okay reading with his struggle last year so I was amazed how he liked. The 8th out of the nine questions I was like okay it's alright and another thing when I seen is like he don't he don't write very fast so as he is right and I might you might see him come and get me or I might be in the room with him because he like I don't know like I don't know do you have any advice for me to help him like write a little bit faster it seem like he's like paying attention and trying to write so he like normally like if y'all don't like math problems he has a the number but he we have about two of the numbers down that like getting it down like that so it's like earlier when y'all was doing the the Roundup and round in 72 and I'm looking down on it he only has seven two of my career yes she's about to go to the next math problem but writing is definitely a struggle area for him I mean for that is heart because everything is virtual and you know like you only have the scream up for a little bit of time where you going you don't have that much room so you have to move on to the next problem that's good to know because honestly I can't see what he's writing so it's helpful that you're telling me this because now I know so I can be more mindful of that and a lot of things come into third grade and they're just their babies like their little second graders so they just need to get used to the PACE and they get need to get used to and I think he'll be okay I think you'll be okay if you noticed that you think he's still struggling within a month definitely let me know but I really think once he gets into the swing of things play I mean anything else know that was about it I was just trying I didn't know if you liked know or picked up on that he's right in slow or he letting you know it down yet I don't know you don't like to say it cuz I guess everybody's in a class so I don't seem like they knew that they really can't hear you but I let them know like if you have a problem you need to ask because this is Berkshire you're not physically in the classroom work you know light and let her know or she can't see you struggling right and down numbers and she erasing it and then I'm upset cuz I'm like how can I help you if you're not getting all the information for me right I mean it's good that I know and that you brought this up because now I can definitely check in with him I can private message him if that makes him feel more comfortable instead of saying it in front of the whole class or happy better and I also if you see him pull his phone out that's more so of me to take the picture of it and then like write it down later that's smart that's actually a really good strategy I didn't even think of that that's smart I feel keep doing that until he gets into the swing of things while you're right in the sub down that's like more so taken in the picture tell him to write it down and listen to what you're doing so he won't miss the entire lesson trying to focus on writing down what you say I mean I don't have anything else I need to say it unless you want me to go into detail about like what exactly we're learning or are you guys are you going to do you need anything what was that can you hear me yes I can give a question no I have a comment here wants you to know that he is paying attention he might be looking up how do you turn me you guys are the TV so when you doing class you're on the TV if you would not okay okay no because I see him kind of that's actually a good point I see him so you but you're only TV instead of the little stream well that's actually thank you but he's paying attention I'm going to assume I just didn't know that thank you for bringing this to my attention go tell tank I'm on the I'm on this right now so that's it like I said I was amazed by his reading them made by his mess. He is catching on the multiplication and things like that I think he has a great day I hear nothing but Lester I don't see him sleepy or non motivated so I think you're doing definitely a great job thank you I really appreciate that I'm the lucky to have both your children I love my job if there's ever any feedback or something I can do better tell me please he's always trying to improve to so any yes thank you for putting everything in the links it gives them more Independence I even pointed to the other teachers for them to go to the link and click on their self and set her struggling to put in all them codes thank you thank you thank you of course I'm going to hang up thank you thank you thank you for your time and thanks for you tomorrow bye guys
